I’ve been artsy-crafty all my life, dabbling in everything from sewing and painting to web design and photography. As a girl I was very much into dolls and would make outfits, play food and accessories for them all the time. I had no idea back then that it was possible to “customize” a doll (re-wig, eye-swap, repaint, etc) but I’m sure I would have been fascinated by the process and dove right in if someone had introduced me to it. When I became pregnant with my daughter in 2013, my love for all things doll related was reignited as I looked into starting a collection for her, and that’s when I discovered doll artistry. It has become a real passion for me the last 5 years as I have learned, completely self-taught, how to do everything from the basics like eye-swapping, re-wigging, ear-piercing, and lip-glossing to the advanced pursuit of professional repainting. Most of my techniques are self-inspired and invented, from years of trial and error using different materials, customizing different types of dolls, and spending many many long hours practicing the art of it all. Inspired by my creative endeavors and appreciation for high-quality materials, I developed my own line of doll wigs and eyes along the way, an innovation in and of itself at the time (long before there were many doll wig shops and copycat sellers). I still enjoy offering the occasional limited run of exclusive high quality wigs and eyes, both for my own creative purposes and for the use of other doll customizers and restorers, but my main focus over the years has turned back to the artistry. My heart has really always been in my own doll art, in creating dolls that are truly unique and beautiful and custom. I hope you enjoy my doll art as much as I do.
